The Founding Weekend
Two working days in Vail.
Shaping the agenda. Reflecting. Committing.
Friday, October 2 (Optional)
The founding weekend runs Saturday October 3 and Sunday October 4. Friday evening arrival is optional for members who want a more relaxed start.
Saturday, October 3
The inward day. The room takes up the first question of the working agenda — how raising your child has reshaped who you are as a leader.
Morning — Each member speaks in turn about the moment they knew.
Afternoon — A single working session led by Dr. Ben Yalom on the question every parent in this room carries: what happens to your child after you, and what facing that question changes about how you lead now. Each couple works privately with a coach, then the room reconvenes for a facilitated discussion.
Evening — Dinner together. No agenda. The work continues at the table or it does not. Both are fine.
Sunday, October 4
The outward day. The room takes up the second question — what each member will do about it in the next twelve months.
Morning — Each member names one outward act they will carry into the year. Visible or quiet. Large or small. The room hears it. The pairings are set.
Late morning — A conversation the founding table earns because it is intentionally small: what could we do together over the next year that none of us could do alone. How, as business leaders, can we make a difference?
Close — A calendar of regional gatherings, a paired partner for the year, and a commitment that has been spoken aloud in front of people who will remember.

Fly into Denver International (approximately two hours by car) or Eagle County Regional (shorter transfer). Members make their own travel arrangements.
Outside the working sessions, the resort is yours — spa, hiking, time to think, time to decompress.
What Founding Membership Includes
Founding membership covers the full year: the Vail weekend (all programming and guest speakers) – and the rest of the year: the brain trust, monthly expert sessions, regional gatherings in three cities, and founder briefings. Lodging at Vail is arranged by each member at the Four Seasons or Sebastian.
